Control of Mandibular Width With 3D Printed Occlusal Splint in Children With Multiple Mandibular Fractures

Abstract: device. However, the device did not show the TOF ratio but only TOF count 4. After the induction, rocuronium was administered at a low dose. The patient was intubated after confirming TOF count 0. The total volume of rocuronium administered was 20 mg. The change in neuromuscular blocking during surgery was similar to that in the last surgery. After finishing surgery, 200 mg of sugammadex was administered. Then, the patient was extubated after confirming the recovery of neuromuscular function (TOF count 4). No … Show more

“…Postoperative imaging confirmed successful mandibular adduction, with favorable outcomes observed during the two-month follow-up period. This approach is particularly beneficial among children with mandibular symphyseal fractures accompanied by bilateral condylar fractures [53].…”

“…Open reduction and internal fixation are commonly used for subcondylar fractures, as open treatment is more effective in restoring a patient’s premorbid occlusion and mandibular movements 1,2 . At present, there are many reports on the applications of absorbable plates in the fixation of condylar fractures 3,4 . Compared with a conventional titanium plate system, an absorbable plate obviates the need for plate removal; however, the absorbable plate system involves complicated procedures, 5 which need adequate exposure of the operative field and less interfere by the surrounding soft tissues.…”
