Abstract: A turn-on trace water sensor was obtained via the single-crystal to single-crystal transformation process of a metal–organic framework.

“…It is often encountered as a part of reticular syntheses due to its predictable geometry and availability. Its relatively large conjugated electron system, as well as a certain degree of flexibility make it interesting for the synthesis of luminescent MOFs [72,73]. "Rigidifying" of the ligand conformation in the resultant MOF often leads to the enhancement of stilbene-based luminescence, which allows the preparation of highly emissive and stable materials [74].…”

“…The matched pore size between the guest and MOF can avoid the leakage of guests. [30][31][32][33] Accordingly, the choice of ligand is crucial in the synthesis of MOFs with specific functions. For example, Qiu et al synthesized [Zn 2 (tipe) 1.5 (AIP)](NO 3 ) 2 •7DMA•7H 2 O using the 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-(imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)ethane (tipe) ligand and 5-aminoisophthalic acid (H 2 AIP) ligand and realized white light emission by encapsulating dye molecules.…”
