Abstract:We have used a rationally designed two-step crystallization approach to induce the formation of stacks of superposed and uniquely oriented flat-on polymer lamellae exclusively and controllably at the periphery of monolamellar polymer crystals. The probability of initiating such stacks of lamellar crystals via self-induced nucleation was controlled by the crystallization temperature, which in turn, determined the width of crystalline branches through the Mullins-Sekerka instability. We employed this approach fo… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
