Abstract:This paper deals with the issue of frequency regulation in a small insulated low inertia grid with a large participation of renewable energy sources (RESs). A strong decentralized control strategy is used, allowing various RESs such as batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells to provide additional frequency recovery service.
