Cooperative Effects on Transient Spectral Hole Burning

Abstract: (Maximum 200 words)The nonlinear optical susceptibility is calculated for a system of two closelylocated bound excitons by treating the test field as a pertubation in pump-probe experiments. The coherence of the superradiance effect on the spectral hole burning is found to be dramatic in the transient regime for both on-resonance and off-resonance pumping.
