Core–Shell Pd@Au Nanoplates as Theranostic Agents for In‐Vivo Photoacoustic Imaging, CT Imaging, and Photothermal Therapy

Abstract: Uniform plasmonic Pd@Au core-shell bimetallic nanoplates are synthesized by seeded growth strategy. Surface modified with SH-PEG makes it good biocompatibility, prolonged blood circulation, and relatively high tumor accumulation. Enhanced tumor contrast effects can be obtained for in vivo photoacoustic/CT imaging after intravenous injection of Pd@Au-PEG. Moreover, efficient photothermal tumor ablation is achieved, guided by the imaging techniques. This work promises further exploration of the superiority of 2D… Show more

“…Especially, the rational integration of diverse imaging modalities to achieve multiple imaging can provide more precise information 13. As one of the most commonly adopted diagnostic tools in clinic, computed tomography (CT) imaging can provide 3D images to illustrate the anatomic structures around tumor region with high spatial resolutions and deep tissue penetration 14.…”

“…65,66 PAI has the advantage of deep tissue penetration as a result of the ultrasonic wave produced by the pulsed laser 67,68 and can be utilized to investigate tumor-targeting effects. The bare Bi 2 Se 3 NSs and Bi 2 Se 3 -CS-RGD NSs are injected intravenously (1 mg ml −1 , 0.1 ml) into tumor-bearing nude mice, and the PA images are acquired 2-18 h post injection.…”

“…Similar to metal nanoporous materials,32, 33, 34, 35 2D metal nanosheets exhibit high surface areas and thus high performance in catalysis. Many 2D metal nanosheets also display unit optical and electronic properties 12, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30…”
