Abstract:Titanium dioxide is rising growing interest because of its photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical properties. Under UV irradiation, photogenerated charge carriers can migrate to the surface and drive several redox reactions, from water splitting in hydrogen and oxygen to the photocatalytic decomposition of organic pollutants. Potential applications of TiO2 thin films range from self cleaning and superhydrophilic surfaces to photocatalytic air and water detoxification. One of the approaches to improve material… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
