Cover Feature: A Systematic Structure–Activity Study of a New Type of Small Peptidic Transfection Vector Reveals the Importance of a Special Oxo‐Anion‐Binding Motif for Gene Delivery (ChemBioChem 22/2017)
Abstract:The cover feature shows that three‐armed cationic peptide ligands are efficient gene transfection vectors. However, only when they contain an artificial oxoanion binding site, the GCP group, in their arms. Ligands with arginine, lysine or histidine instead show no transfection. In our paper we analyse the reason for this behaviour. More information can be found in the full paper by C. Schmuck et al. on page 2268 in Issue 22, 2017 (DOI: 10.1002/cbic.201700433).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
