“…Visible plant residues were removed, and then the soil was airdried and passed through a 2 mm sieve. Soil pH was determined in distilled water suspension (1:2.5, weight/volume) by a pH meter (Starter 300, United States) (Luo et al, 2011), whereas total C (TC) and total N (TN) were determined by dry combustion using a Vario MAX CN analyzer (Elementar, Germany) (Tian et al, 2019).
