Abstract:The inside cover picture, provided by Giulia Licini, Carles Bo and coworkers illustrates the highly chemoselective aerobic oxidative cleavage of 1,2‐diols to the corresponding carbonyl derivatives catalyzed by vanadium‐aminotriphenolate complexes. This catalytic method works with a large variety of glycols, linear or cyclic, with aromatic or aliphatic substituents. Pre‐association of the substrate to the metal center, followed by a two‐electron oxidation mechanism, yields the carbonyl derivatives and a reduced… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
