Background: COVID-19 has generated new gaps in knowledge, which in turn has had a significant impact on different areas of research, one of these being Reproductive Medicine. However, to date, no analysis of publications on this topic has been identified. Therefore, the aim of this study was to perform a bibliometric analysis of the worldwide scientific production of COVID-19 in Reproductive Medicine. Method: We conducted an advanced bibliographic search in the Scopus database to identify articles on COVID-19 and Reproductive Medicine from 2019 to May 2022. The collected data was analyzed with Scival software, and the results were presented through summary tables. Result: A total of 737 publications were collected and analyzed, of which 594 were original articles and 143 reviews. Leila V. Adamyan and Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Russia) were the most productive author and institution, respectively. The European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology was the journal with the highest number of publications. In addition to that, we report a steady increase in the number of publications between 2020 and 2021, especially of articles published in first quartile (Q1) journals. Finally, although most of the publications had only national collaboration, the highest impact was found in those studies with international collaboration. Conclusion: The scientific production on Reproductive Medicine and COVID-19 has reported a steady increase in recent years, especially in Q1 journals, which evidences a special interest in the subject by the scientific community. However, since new articles on COVID-19 are constantly being published, we recommend future bibliometric analyses to better analyze the topic.

“…Debido a la vía de contagio mediante el contacto de las microgotas respiratorias se opta por el distanciamiento social como medida principal, razón por la cual la normalidad de las actividades sociales se vieron restringidas y en otros casos limitadas (Az Khan et al, 2022), entre ellas, el acceso a los servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva (Kumar, 2020;MINSA, 2020) . En este sentido, el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas UNFPA (2020), manifestó un aumento de las necesidades insatisfechas de planificación debido a la falta de atención de las demandas de la población, como en tiempos de prepandemia; estimando que la disminución de sólo el 10% del uso de métodos anticonceptivos provocaría 15 401 000 embarazos no deseados, con mayor incidencia en países de bajos y medianos ingresos.…”

La COVID-19 ha generado crisis en la salud, impactando significativamente en la salud sexual y reproductiva, principalmente en la planificación familiar. La investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la percepción de las mujeres sobre la atención recibida en un servicio de planificación familiar de nivel primario en Supe, provincia de Barranca. Mediante un estudio descriptivo, consideramos un total de 211 usuarias atendidas, aplicamos un cuestionario validado, informado y aprobado por un Comité de Ética. Los resultados indicaron que la mayoría de las usuarias atendidas eran mujeres jóvenes, con nivel secundario, procedentes de zonas urbanas y con dos o más hijos. En cuanto a la percepción sobre la atención en planificación familiar en tiempos de pandemia, encontramos que la mayoría de las mujeres encuestadas tuvo una percepción buena, con un porcentaje del 87,1%, mientras que el 12,9% restante tuvo una percepción regular o mala. En las cinco dimensiones estudiadas encontramos una percepción buena; esto puede ser atribuido a las acciones preestablecidas en el establecimiento de salud por los obstetras antes de la pandemia, aminorando el impacto propio del confinamiento, sin embargo, aún quedan aspectos por mejorar y/o reforzar.
