Cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication machining: from mechanism to application

Abstract: Cutting fluid plays a cooling-lubrication role in the cutting of metal materials. However, the substantial usage of cutting fluid in traditional flood machining seriously pollutes the environment and threatens the health of workers. Environmental machining technologies, such as dry cutting, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), and cryogenic cooling technology, have been used as substitute for flood machining. However, the insufficient cooling capacity of MQL with normal-temperature compressed gas and the lack o… Show more

“…The processing damage intensifies, especially in the machining of resin matrix fiber composites when the cutting zone temperature reaches the glass transition temperature of the resin matrix [145]. Therefore, controlling the cutting zone temperature in an appropriate range is crucial in improving the machining quality [146][147][148][149]. Jia et al [150] first proposed the concept of cutting CFRP at appropriate temperature (-10-25 °C).…”

“…Among the chalcogenophenes, thiophenes and selenophenes play a significant role in the arena of organic syntheses, organic electronics, medicinal chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, and materials sciences and engineering. [339,[343][344][345][346] Since, oxone play a vital role as a safe and mild oxidizing agent due its easy handling, stable under several conditions, safe manipulation and/or disposal in addition to its low cost/toxicity and wide variety of applications. [347] Therefore, researchers around the globe have explored the utility of this versatile oxidising agent in the synthesis of organoselenium and organotellurium compounds.…”
