Cryptosporangium mongoliense sp. nov., isolated from soil

Abstract: A Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile actinomycete, strain MN08-A0264T , was isolated from soil sampled in Mongolia. . The allocation of the isolate to the genus Cryptosporangium was supported by chemotaxonomic data: menaquinone MK-9(H 6 ) with minor amounts of MK-9(H 8 ) and MK-9(H 4 ), major amounts of iso-C 16 : 0 , C 18 : 1 9c and C 17 : 0 10-methyl, a polar lipid profile comprising phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol and glycolipids, and whole-cell s… Show more

“…At maturity, spore chains with irregular round spores are borne on aerial hyphae. Growth occurs at pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum pH 8.0), 10-30 u C (optimum 25 u C) and with 0-6.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum (Ara et al, 2011;Guo et al, 2011); 4, A. corallina NBRC 105525 T (Guo et al, 2011;Otoguro et al, 2011); 5, A. oryzae NBRC 105245 T (Guo et al, 2011;Indananda et al, 2010); 6, A. timorensis NBRC 105524 T (Guo et al, 2011;Otoguro et al, 2011). All strains contain meso-diaminopimelic acid.…”

“…The cell wall contains mesodiaminopimelic acid and mycolic acids are absent. The major fatty acid, diagnostic menaquinone and polar phospholipid are iso-C 16 : 0 , MK-9(H 4 ) and phosphatidylethanolamine, respectively (Indananda et al, 2010;Ara et al, 2011;Otoguro et al, 2011;Guo et al, 2011). However, A. xinjiangensis contains more MK-10(H 2 ) (76.5 %) than it does MK-9(H 4 ) (23.5 %), while the other species have only MK-9(H 4 ).…”

“…Actinophytocola oryzae was first described and proposed as the type species of the genus Actinophytocola by Indananda et al (2010), with a single strain isolated from the root of Thai glutinous rice plant. Later, four more species of the genus Actinophytocola from different types of soil samples were identified (Otoguro et al, 2011;Ara et al, 2011;Guo et al, 2011). One of the genus-specific morphological features is that no sporangium-like structures are produced.…”

“…Novel species of the genus Pseudonocardia have been isolated from diverse environments such as active sludge soils, including those polluted by chemical compounds (Lee et al, 2004;Kämpfer & Kroppenstedt, 2004;Mahendra & Alvarez-Cohen, 2005;Liu et al, 2006;Kämpfer et al, 2006;Park et al, 2008), wastewater activated sludge (Cuesta et al, 2013), plant samples (Evtushenko et al, 1989;Reichert et al, 1998;Gu et al, 2006;Chen et al, 2009;Sakiyama et al, 2010;Kaewkla & Franco, 2010Qin et al, 2010;Zhao et al, 2011a, b, c), soil (Lee et al, 2002;Park et al, 2008;Qin et al, 2008;Li et al, 2010;Ara et al, 2011) and deep-sea sediments (Tian et al, 2013).…”
