Crystal structure, DFT calculations and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 3-(4-methylphenyl)-6-nitro-1H-indazole

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound consist of two independent molecules. In the crystal, N–H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds form zigzag chains along the b-axis direction. Additional C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the chains into layers parallel to (10). These are connected by slipped π-stacking and C—H⋯π(ring) interactions.

“…Isatin derivatives possess diverse activities such as antibacterial (Kassab et al, 2010), antiviral (Jarrahpour et al, 2007), anti-HIV (Sriram et al, 2006), anticancer (Gü rsoy et al, 2003) and anti-inflammatory (Sridhar et al, 2001) activities. As a continuation of our research work devoted to the development of isatin derivatives (Ben-Yahia et al, 2018;Rayni et al, 2019), we report in this work the synthesis and the Hirshfeld surface analysis of a new indoline-2,3-dione derivative obtained by the action of nonyl bromide on isatin under phase-transfer catalysis conditions.…”
