Crystal structure, optical spectroscopy and energy transfer properties in NaZnPO4:Ce3+, Tb3+ phosphors for UV-based LEDs

Abstract: A series of Ce3+, Tb3+ and, Ce3+/Tb3+ doped NaZnPO4(NZPO) phosphors synthesized via the high-temperature solid-state reaction method were investigated.

“…The spectrum displayed a weak absorption band in the range 520-630 cm À1 which arises due to the P-O vibration mode. [36][37][38] The dopant of RE ions had little impact on the main structure of the matrix, according to the non-doped/co-doped FTIR spectra of several doped ions, which was compatible with the XRD data.…”

“…50,52,53,57 The sharp and strong emission in the green region at 487, 545, 586 and 621 nm is due to the 5 D 4 → 7 J j ( j = 6, 5, 4, 3) transitions, respectively. 15,58 The green emission intensity increases with annealing temperature, whereas the emission in the blue is not significantly affected (inset Fig. 9b).…”

“…The following equation explains the relationship between luminescent intensity and doping concentration. 5,36 where I represent the emission intensity, k and β are related to the coefficients, and Q represents the interaction type constant. In addition, equivalence to eqn (3) could also be expressed as:( I / X ) = −( θ /3) L ( X ) + A …”
