“…In all complexes and metal nano oxides, the viability of the cancer cells decreased in a dose‐dependent manner. A comparison of Cu(II) complexes with HL 1 ligand with cobalt(III) and V(IV) complexes reported here shows that metal center has a high effect on anticancer activity . It is important to mention that the copper(II) complex presented herein showed a better growth inhibitory effect than the previously reported copper complexes …”

“…The complexes were synthesized in good yields by reaction between the ligands (HL 1–2 ) and metal salts in methanol following a similar procedure as described elsewhere for the parent complex, Cu(L 2 ) 2. In a typical experiment, a solution of Schiff base ligand (3 mmol, 0.54 g HL 1 and 0.63 g HL 2 ) in 20 mL of methanol was placed in a round bottom flask equipped with a magnetic stirrer and a reflux condenser. This solution was heated to about 70 °C while being stirred and then a solution of appropriate metal salt (1 mmol Co(OAc) 2 .4H 2 O (0.25 g) and 1.5 mmol for VO(acac) 2 (0.39 g) and Cu(OAc) 2 .H 2 O (0.29 g) salt) in MeOH (20 mL) was added drop‐wise.…”
