Crystallization, melting behavior, and crystal structure of reactive, intumescent, flame‐retardant polypropylene

Abstract: Polypropylene (PP)/2‐({9‐[(4,6‐diamino‐1,3,5‐triazin‐2‐yl) amino]‐3,9‐dioxido‐2,4,8,10‐tetraoxa‐3,9‐diphosphaspiro [5.5] undecan‐3‐yl} oxy) ethyl methacrylate (EADP) composites were prepared by the blending of PP with EADP as a new flame‐retardant material. The nonisothermal crystallization and melting behaviors of composites were investigated with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Their crystal morphologies and structures were studied by polarized optical microscopy (POM) and X‐ray diffraction (XRD), r… Show more

“…In particularly, thermal‐oxidative aging often meets with the external environment for the flame‐resistant material of LGFPP composites. Hence, it is considerably important to investigate the properties of thermal aging of LGFPP composites in the natural environment . Several studies have reported the effects of different aging conditions on the mechanical and physical properties of LGFPP composites.…”

“…In recent years, intumescent flame retardants (IFRs) have aroused more and more attention in flame retardant polypropylene (PP), due to their being environmentalfriendly, low smoke and antidripping [1][2][3]. Typically, an IFR system is composed of three components: an acid source, a charring agent, and a blowing agent [4].…”
