CSRR based folded monopole tri-band antenna array and its system level evaluation

Abstract: In this article, a folded monopole antenna loaded with complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) is proposed for tri‐band applications. The two bands of the antenna are generated by the folding of the monopole (first band is caused due to fundamental mode and another due to higher order mode) and CSRRs have been responsible for the third band. By using four such antennas in form of an array, the gain and bandwidth have been improved. The prototype of the antenna array is developed on FR4 substrate and simula… Show more

“…In the traditional design approach, these elements are separately designed and combined using a 50 Ω matching network. [1][2][3] However, this approach involved more losses and increase the size. There are several papers [4][5][6][7][8][9][10] reported to design filter and antenna together (i.e., filtenna) to reduce the losses and size in radio system design.…”

“…Antenna arrays and beam-forming networks play a vital role in wireless communication. [1][2][3] Herein, crossovers are of great importance in designing these butler matrix/beamforming networks. [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Crossover signal paths are quite common in microwave circuits, and the underpass and air bridge are some of the conventional methods to realize these paths.…”
