Abstract:Spatiotemporal gene expression patterns are governed to a large extent by enhancer elements, typically located distally from their target genes. Identification of enhancerpromoter (EP) links that are specific and functional in individual cell types is a key challenge in understanding gene regulation. We introduce CT-FOCS, a new statistical inference method that utilizes multiple replicates per cell type to infer cell type-specific EP links. Computationally predicted EP links are usually benchmarked against exp… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
