Abstract: ÖZET Preterm bebeklerde emme, yutma, nefes alma döngüsünün birbiriyle eş zamanlı çalışamaması ve bu çoklu sistemlerin kontrol edilememesi, yutma ve solunum işlevlerinin ortak alanda bulunması gibi nedenlerle beslenme güçlüğü, yetersiz kalori alımı, gelişim geriliği, taburculuk süresinin uzaması ve bakım yükü ile birlikte maliyetin artması olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır.
