Abstract: This chapter introduces issues of culture which may influence and modulate experiences of wellbeing in aging around the world. The aging of indigenous populations is rapid and indigenous populations and ethnic minority groups have disparities in longevity, health, and wellbeing that are not totally explained by socioeconomic disadvantage.
