Abstract:Since a few years ONERA has been investing in airborne compact technological research platforms for radar and optronics applications [1]. The latest development is the first prototype of CURACAO [2], a compact X-band Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) system able to work in SAR and/or GMTI modes. We describe in this paper the architecture, design and calibration of CURACAO.
