Abstract: The majority of urologists consider that prostate MRI is essential for the management of patients with prostate cancer. Practices are ahead of recommendations particularly before the first biopsy and in active surveillance.

“…Без сомнения, концепция мультипараметрической магнитно-резонансной томографии (мпМРТ) сегодня доминирует в вопросах выявления и стратификации риска развития клинически значимого рака предстательной железы (кзРПЖ) [1,2]. Разработаны требования по стандартизации методики сканирования и правила интерпретации [3].…”

“…Reducing the volume over which the field must be generated may also reduce power needs 29 . Furthermore, prostate MRI is a rapidly growing application, as it is increasingly recognized as a cost-effective step following elevated PSA [31][32][33][34][35][36][37] . Therefore, this was chosen for a first and ideal organ to benefit from this class of device.…”

“…Consequently, the good results reported in specialized institutions may not be generalized. Given the increasing use of prostate mpMRI over the world [5] , [31] , [32] , this lack of reproducibility will become a major concern in the future.…”

“…The so-called multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) that combines T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) with functional pulse sequences such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) or dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) imaging has shown excellent results in PCa detection [1] , [2] . As a consequence, biopsies targeting suspicious lesions seen on mpMRI are increasingly used in addition to systematic biopsy [3] , [4] , [5] . Some authors even proposed to replace systematic biopsy by targeted biopsy based on mpMRI findings [6] , [7] , but this attitude remains controversial [8] , [9] , [10] .…”
