Aim The integration of innovative radio-pharmaceutical agents targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) within nuclear medicine has transformed prostate cancer detection and management. This study aims to investigate the present landscape of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA in prostate cancer, elucidating trends, global contributions, scholarly outlets, institutions, and thematic concentrations with an aim to inform forthcoming research endeavors. Methods We systematically probed the Scopus repository for relevant [177Lu]Lu-PSMA literature. An assessment of bibliometric and altmetric data was carried out. Finally, we assessed the correlation between the altmetric attention scores and the number of citations for the retrieved data. Results Spanning January 2015 to July 2023, the study encompassed 466 articles concerning [177Lu]Lu-PSMA therapy for prostate cancer. Predominant citation accolades gravitated towards metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer investigations and assessments of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA therapy’s safety and efficacy. Further research encompassed adverse effects linked to [177Lu]Lu-PSMA intervention, including xerostomia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and fatigue. Germany emerged as the primary academic contributor, with The Journal of Nuclear Medicine dominating publications (n = 55). A moderate significant correlation was detected between the number of citations and altmetric attention scores . Conclusion The findings highlight the growing interest and advancements in the utilization of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA therapy in prostate cancer and offer a comprehensive global perspective on future research directions.

Background: Thyroid surgery involves the partial or complete removal of the thyroid gland and is a frequently performed surgical procedure. The adoption of robots, equipped with flexible and stable operating systems, has garnered acceptance among numerous surgeons for their capability to enable precise anatomical dissection in thyroid surgery. To gain a comprehensive insight into the present research landscape of robot-assisted thyroid surgery, this paper endeavored to conduct a thorough analysis of the field through bibliometric analysis. Methods: Relevant literature pertaining to robot-assisted thyroid surgery was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database, spanning from the inception of WOSCC to October 17, 2022. Visual analyses of publication quantity, distribution across countries/regions, institutions/organizations, authorship, journals, references, and keywords were conducted using Microsoft Excel, the bibliometrix package in R, Citescape, and VOSviewer software. Results: A total of 505 articles from 406 institutions in 36 countries/regions were included. South Korea emerged with highest number of publications. Notably, Professor CHUNG WY from Yonsei University in South Korea and the journal “Surg Endosc” stood out with the most publications. The current research landscape indicated significant interest in endoscopic thyroidectomy, surgical procedures, and the axillary approach. In addition, transoral robotic thyroidectomy (TROT), and learning curve (LC) were recognized as research frontiers, representing potential future hotspots in this field. Conclusion: This study marks the first bibliometric analysis of the literature on robot-assisted thyroid surgery. The results highlight endoscopic thyroidectomy, surgical procedures, and the axillary approach as current research hotspots, with TROT and LC identified as potential future research hotspots.

It is worth mentioning that FAP is rarely expressed in normal fibroblasts, and meanwhile, normal tissues show relatively low uptake of FAPI. , By labeling with radionuclides such as 18 F and 68 Ga, FAPI can be specifically targeted and bind to activated fibroblasts, thereby displaying a high uptake in fibrotic tissues by positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in the context of some benign diseases, such as pulmonary fibrosis. , 18 F-FAPI-74 is an important PET imaging probe that has been applied in the clinic . Particularly, the application of 18 F-FAPI-74 in patients and animals has been approved by the Ethics Review Committee of our hospital.…”

Potential Value of FAPI PET/CT in the Detection and Treatment of Fibrosing Mediastinitis: Preclinical and Pilot Clinical Investigation

Fibrosing mediastinitis (FM) is a rare proliferative disease within the mediastinum that leads to pulmonary hypertension, which has been regarded as a major cause of death. This study aims to evaluate the potential value of fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI)-PET/CT in the integration of diagnosis and treatment of FM through targeting FAPI in fibrosis rats and provide a theoretical basis for clinical management of FM patients. By performing a 18 F-FAPI PET/CT scan, the presence of FAPIavid in the fibrotic lesion was determined. Through a fibrosis rat model, 18 F-FAPI-74 was used for lesion imaging and 177 Lu-FAPI-46 was utilized to investigate the potential therapeutic effect on FM in vivo. In addition, biodistribution analysis and radiation dosimetry were carried out. With the 177 Lu-FAPI-46 pharmacokinetic data of rats as the input, the estimated dose for female adults was computed, which can provide some useful information for the safe application of radiolabeled FAPI in the detection and treatment of FM in patients. Then, major findings on the use of FAPI PET/CT and SPECT/CT in FM were presented. 18 F-FAPI-74 showed a high-level uptake in FM lesions of patients (SUVmax 7.94 ± 0.26), which was also observed in fibrosis rats (SUVmax 2.11 ± 0.23). Consistently, SPECT/CT imaging of fibrosis rats also revealed that 177 Lu-FAPI-46-avid was active for up to 60 h in fibrotic lesions. In addition to this robust diagnostic performance, a possible therapeutic impact was evaluated as well. It turned out that no spontaneous healing of lesions was observed in the control group, whereas there was complete healing on day 9, day 11, and day 14 in the 30, 100, and 300 MBq groups, respectively. With a significant difference in the free of event rate in the Kaplan−Meier curve among four groups (P < 0.001), a dose of 300 MBq displayed the best therapeutic effect, and no obvious damage was observed in the kidney. Furthermore, organ-absorbed doses and an effective dose (0.4320 mSv/MBq) of 177 Lu-FAPI-46 presumed for patients were assumed to give a preliminary indication of its safe use in clinical practice. In conclusion, 18 F-FAPI-46 PET/CT can be a potentially valuable tool for the diagnosis of FM. Of note, 177 Lu-FAPI-46 may be a novel and safe radiolabeled reagent for the integration of diagnosis and treatment of FM.
