Abstract: The eukaryotic cytoskeleton is a complex scaffold consisting of actin filaments, intermediate filaments, and microtubules. Though fungi and plants lack intermediate filaments, the dynamic structural network of actin filaments and microtubules regulates cell shape, division, polarity, and vesicular trafficking in both.
