D-dimer: issues of laboratory diagnostics

Abstract: D-dimer is a protein fragment, resulting from the breakdown of fibrin during fibrinolysis. D-dimer is considered to be a fairly informative indicator of thrombus formation, since the mechanism of its production starts simultaneously with the process of thrombus formation.
