Abstract

A neobank is an internet-only bank. This year the scale of funding going into fintech and neobanks is at sky-high valuations. According to venture capitalists, this fact could potentially make neobanks more confident. The question is whether can the incumbents including banks reform and adapt their business models? Some analysts believe that the cultural transformation required to drive change at the big banks may be even harder to achieve compared to technology firms.
