Abstract:Cosmology and astronomical observation of distant galaxies have given in the last years an overwhelming evidence of the existence of dark matter in the Universe, but have taught very little about its physical nature. This paper is a short review of the present status of the experimental investigations of non-gravitational interaction of this elusive kind of matter with the ordinary one.
