Abstract:We study dark matter, assumed to be composed of weak interacting massive particles (WIMPs), scattering off H2 and He4 nuclei. In order to parametrize the WIMP-nucleon interaction, the chiral effective field theory approach is used. Considering only interactions invariant under parity, charge conjugation, and time reversal, we examine five interaction types: scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axial, and tensor. Scattering amplitudes between two nucleons and a WIMP are determined up to second order of chiral perturba… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
