Data Aggregation and Routing Guidance with QoS Guarantee in VANETs

Abstract: Data aggregation is a useful technology that can decrease the communication bandwidth cost in the process of data gathering in VANETs. However, data aggregation may lose some data accuracy. Current data aggregation schemes in VANETs only consider saving bandwidth cost while ignoring the application requirement, which may result in the inaccuracy of aggregated data for dynamic routing application. Therefore, we propose a framework in which application demands are considered in the process of data aggregation to… Show more

“…The data includes the information about the path establishment, shortest route and the traffic in different routes. Clusters [20] are formed byusing the efficient algorithms and the suitable nodes are made as the cluster heads to transfer the data. Generally at first the data is collected about the various matters and then it is transmitted between the clusters through the cluster heads.…”

“…Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) uses wireless communications to communicate among themselves and other vehicles just like that of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) [1]. MANET works on Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol but the characteristics of OLSR not fit in resources like energy consumption and other hardware [2]. It takes data packets from source to destination while traveling in OLSR protocol.…”
