Data-Based Flow Rate Prediction Models for Independent Metering Hydraulic Valve

Abstract: Accurate valve flow rate prediction is essential for the flow control process of independent metering (IM) hydraulic valve. Traditional estimation methods are difficult to meet the high-precision requirements under the restricted space of the valve. Thus data-based flow rate prediction method for IM valve has been proposed in this study. We took the four-spool IM valve as the research object, and carried out the IM valve experiments to generate labeled data. Picking up the post-valve pressure and valve opening… Show more

“…Neural networks designed for hydraulic systems are commonly used for forecasting future parameter values, such as flow rate and pressure. Su [3] proposed an accurate data-based flow rate prediction method for a four-spool independent-metering valve. Eight data-based estimation models, including machine learning and deep learning, were built and trained.…”

“…Nguyen et al [20] combined pump control with an independent metering system, adopted the control strategy of speed feedforward and position feedback, and designed the switching mode of the system to increase the accuracy and energy-saving of the system response. Su et al [21] proposed a data-based flow prediction method, where the independent metering system composed of four 2/2 proportional valves served as the research object. They also compared eight different data-based estimation models to provide a reference for the high-precision flow prediction of hydraulic valves.…”

“…In [11], a basic concept and simulation study for a flow-on-demand hybrid system combined with an IM system applied to a forestry crane was presented. In [12], the data-based characteristics of a full-bridge valve system applicable for independent metering were identified by different strategies, including machine learning concepts.…”
