Abstract:West Nile Virus (WNV) is the leading cause of mosquito-borne neuroinvasive disease in the United States. Upon entry into the central nervous system (CNS, WNV infects neurons causing neuronal injury and inflammation potentially resulting in long-term sequelae and death.
