Decision-Making in Flat and Hierarchical Decision Problems

Abstract: The article is dedicated to the modelling of the essence of decision-taking processes in flat and hierarchical decision problems. In flat decision problems particular attention is drawn to the effectiveness of strategies in seeking decision variants on solution decomposition trees, taking into account the strength of their predefined contradictions. For hierarchical decision processes, the issue of iterative balancing of global (hierarchical) decisions is expressed, based on the valuation of the significance o… Show more

“…In order to ensure the above, the following are important: reputation, time of completion of an order, accessibility to materials, flexibility and adaptability to the client requirements, knowledge and competence of the employees, innovativeness, information resources and many other. The approval of a credit (that may become a trade credit) frequently becomes a competitive advantage 10 . Trade credit is perceived as an element of the competition frequently used by the recipients whose bank creditworthiness is insufficient or who are deterred by the complexity of the bank procedures or the required security.…”

“…Listed here actions are necessary in HSD large organizations in relation to the decisions taken at all levels from elementary decisions at the operational level, for example municipalities as state administrative unit and ending with the cumulative decisions taken at the higher tactical levels of government, for example in the districts or in the provinces. Typical decision-making process is prepared in several stages (Krupa, 2006;Krupa, Ostrowska, 2007;Krupa, Ostrowska, 2012), among which should be distinguished development:  model of the problem situation in which solutions of issues are being expressed,  model specifying the decision about the all required features and characteristics of the measures taken,  procedural model of problem solving solutions in the form: of a tree, which decomposition will lead to the transformation of the model of the problem situation into decision-making areas, decision saved as collections of forming sets (Krupa, Ostrowska, 2007;Krupa, Ostrowska, 2012) and elementary decisions in them.…”

“…Similarly, the growth in the output channel states object is expressed by the sequence of states of the output channel object vectors, described as the sequence of states of the sub channels output of this 12 Resource state -is a vector of the current values of attributes created with individual values for each of the resource features, describing the current state of the resource at a given moment or in a given interval of time 13 Channel status object -corresponds clearly to the characteristics of the resource corresponding to the channel, which is the object model of the resource object, which is the product of the state chart output channel of this object (describing the effect of impacts considered internal to the channel of the object).…”
