Delayed open treatment of aortic penetration by a thoracic pedicle screw: illustrative case

Abstract: BACKGROUND Iatrogenic aortic injury from pedicle screw malpositioning or anterior prominence in posterior spinal fusion represents a rare but potentially devasting complication.
