“…At the level of the size of the organizations, we find that the studies do not focus on a specific size, but rather on diversity, with a substantial portion being on large organizations (Schmidt et al , 2001; Judice et al , 2005; Mirrazavi and Beringer, 2007; Mundschenk and Drexl, 2007; Liou and Lin, 2008; Größler and Zock, 2010; Phan and Matsui, 2010; Bergenwall et al , 2012; Magana et al , 2017; Martinson and Leon, 2018; Sampsona, 2018; Nasirian et al , 2019; Mou and Robb, 2019; Ertogral and Orturk, 2019; Hanumantha et al , 2020; Ciano et al , 2021; Chamberland-Rowe et al , 2021; Simkin et al , 2021; Ullah and Narain, 2021; Smet et al , 2021).…”

“…In this paper, we are going to investigate a managerial problem for the border-crossing queueing process with hierarchical inspection channels. The proposed queueing analysis is of great significance to clarify the risk management goals that aim to effectively and efficiently optimize the tight resource for border control [26]- [28]. Our findings can provide some managerial insight into the border control problems that reconcile the efficiency with safety in the current epidemic prevention and control tasks, especially when attempting to implement the strategy of accurately classified or differentiated prevention and control, and dredging the bottleneck points at borders for passenger flow or container logistics.…”

“…Dynamically allocating servers to parallel queues can substantially reduce wait times, even when forecasts are uncertain (Martonosi 2011). However, accurate forecasting is crucial for proactively managing passenger surges at security checkpoints by dynamically allocating security resources to checkpoints (Hanumantha et al 2020).…”
