“…The refractive indices of water, binary solutions, and ternary solutions were measured with a model-2W Abbe refractometer (Shanghai, China), as reported in our previous study. ,, Before each series of measurements, the refractometer was calibrated with bidistilled freshly degassed water at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure . The temperature of the sample was controlled with a thermostat (xt5205-r10-d31, Xutemp Tent Co., Ltd., Hangzhou, China), and the standard uncertainty was 0.01 K. The combined expanded uncertainty of the refractive index measurement was estimated to be 0.003 at a confidence level of 0.95 ( k = 2).…”

“…Plots of R M with concentration of drug are found to increase linearly with increase in relative amount of drug in aqueous salt solutions (r 2 >0.998). The R M is directly proportional to polarizability (Pacak et al, 1988;Ali et al, 2005;Anwar et al, 2007); therefore, overall polarizability of ternary systems containing {drug + aqueous-salt} solutions increases (Chen et al, 2013) and becomes stronger with increase in relative amount of drug which also elucidates structural cause of change in density of solution. Overall behavior of R M with concentration of drug in each aqueous-salt system indicates existence and modification of molecular interactions.…”

“…The densities of binary solutions (ethanol + water and 1-propanol + water) and ternary solutions (FA + ethanol + water and FA + 1-propanol + water) were measured at different temperatures (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15 K) and atmospheric pressure with a precision of 1 × 10 –6 g·cm –3 on an Anton Paar DMA 5000 M digital constant temperature liquid densimeter with automatic temperature control with a standard uncertainty of 0.01 K. The instrument is calibrated annually using dry air and the standard liquid supplied by the manufacturer, according to the manufacturer recommendations. Before each measurement, air and water density checks at atmospheric pressure using dry air and freshly prepared double distilled water were also performed to confirm that the measurement precision did not decrease over the measurement period. ,, All density measurements were performed in triplicate, and corresponding average values were calculated. The standard uncertainty in measured density values was estimated to be 5 × 10 –4 g·cm –3 .…”
