Deodorant performance of titanium dioxide-added acrylic/cellulose diacetate blended fibers

Abstract: To obtain acrylic fiber with excellent deodorant performance, the effects of titanium dioxide photocatalyst were examined. When titanium dioxide was added to acrylonitrile copolymer and wet spun, the resulting fiber displayed insufficient photocatalytic activity. The acrylonitrile copolymer was then mixed with 30 wt% cellulose diacetate and wet spun. A very finely fibrillated structure resulted, and the official moisture regain of the blend fiber doubled, from 2.03% to 4.03%. While applying ultraviolet (UV) li… Show more

“…In the pre-processing, such a material is kneaded into fibers when the fibers were spun, for example photocatalytic rayon fiber containing titanium oxide (TiO 2 ) 1 and deodorant acrylic fiber added TiO 2 . 2 In contrast, the functional material is supported on the surface of fibers, strings or fabrics by immersing or coating in the after-processing. The inorganic particles from nanometer to micrometer order are said to be ideal for supporting on the fabric.…”
