Denjenigen Teil des menschlichen Körpers, weither durch ein Berühren von außen kürzer wird, nenne ich reizbar: sehr reizbar ist er, wenn er durch ein leichtes Berühren, wenig aber reizbar, wenn er durch eine starke Ursache, sich zu verkürzen veranlaßt wird.Empfindlich nenne ich einen solchen Teil des Körpers, dessen Berührung sich die Seele vorstelle!; und bei Tieren, von deren Seele wir nicht so viel erkennen können, nenne ich diejenigen Teile empfindlich, bei welchen, wenn sie gereizt werden, ein Tier oil enbare Zeichen eines Schmerzes oder einer Unruhe zu erkennen gibt.
