Abstract:Traditionally, the stuffing model has been used to describe stress generation in chemically strengthened glass. Nevertheless, the associated unrealistic conditions, including an imaginary volume expansion and its suppression in an adiabatic closed system, inhibit a thorough understanding of the process.
