Description and Validation of a Computerized Behavioral Data Program: “BDataPro”

Abstract: BDataPro is a Microsoft Windows®-based program that allows for real-time data collection of multiple frequency-and duration-based behaviors, summary of behavioral data (in terms of average responses per min, percentage of 10-s intervals, and cumulative responses within 10-s bins), and calculation of reliability coefficients. The current article describes the functionality of the program. BDataPro is freely available for download from the authors' institution websites. Keywords Computerized data collection. “…Trained observers sat in the observation room and used BDataPro (Bullock, Fisher, & Hagopian, 2017) to collect and analyze data on laptop computers. Data collectors recorded the frequency of destructive behavior and FCRs, and BDataPro converted these frequencies to responses per minute.…”

“…As quantitative methods become more complex, the response and economic costs associated with their use rise commensurately. With the introduction of the DCA and other behaviorally relevant FOSS applications such as BDataPro (Bullock, Fisher, & Hagopian, 2017) and Discounting Model Selector (Gilroy, Franck, & Hantula, 2017;Gilroy & Hantula, 2018), perhaps barriers may be lessened and quantitative tools may be more readily used in basic, translational and applied research.…”
