Design, analysis, and switching losses reduction of hybrid shunt compensator with adaptive control scheme

Abstract: Summary In distribution system, the power quality is improvised by connecting a hybrid shunt compensator at the load end. In this paper, the design analysis of hybrid shunt compensator parameters is presented for smooth filter current tracking. This design eliminates the requirement of an extra ripple filter at Point of Common Coupling (PCC), in case of non‐stiff source.
