Wireless sensor network is a collection of large number of sensor nodes that are deployed in large number to monitor the environment. There is a great technological advancement in wireless sensor network during last few years. Due to low-cost, small-size, nature of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), it allows them to sense the information in various hostile environments (e.g. military surveillance, battlefield). So, to fully achieve the capacity of WSNs, sensor nodes need to cooperate in the collection and must disseminate topology information. These sensor nodes specifically operate in a multihop routing. Sensor network in muiltihop routing faces a variety of risks which is also due to the harsh operating environments. In this paper a fuzzy based approach is introduced which will enhance the routing security and reliability in WSNs.

Trust and reputation models in wireless sensor networks (WSN) have been recently proposed by many researches as an innovative solution for guaranteeing an effective security mechanism. They play an important role in defending WSNs such as securing routing and data forwarding protocols, against insider attacks. However, despite of the advantages, reputation models face with several security issues, especially in the case of dishonest recommendation attacks, i.e. slandering, self-promoting and collusion where participants might give recommendations deviated from their real experience. In this paper we survey the current research related to dishonest recommendation attacks in WSNs. We have classified the schemes studied in two main categories: avoiding dishonest recommendations and dealing with dishonest recommendations. We provide an overview and a comparative study of these schemes and highlight the future research directions to address the drawbacks of existing protocols.

A Credit based Security Scheme (CBSS) for Multihop Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

In most of the scenarios, communication in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) takes place via multihop routing. Multihop routing does not provide much protection against identity deception, developed through the replay of routing information. This defect can be exploited by an opponent to launch several harmful attacks or even attacks that destroy the routing protocols, misdirecting the network traffic which results in disastrous consequences. In order to secure the multihop routing in WSNs from the adversaries, a Credit Based Security Scheme (CBSS) for WSN is proposed. CBSS, not only reduce the negative impacts from intruders but it also proves energy-efficient by incorporating the trustworthiness of the nodes into the routing decisions. The focus of this paper is to increase the Packet Delivery Ratio and offer an energy efficient route to the base station even in the presence of wormhole attack by incorporating Credit Based Security Scheme (CBSS). CBSS is proved effective through extensive evaluation with simulation using NS2.
