Design and Implementation of a Wireless Charging-Based Cardiac Monitoring System Focused on Temperature Reduction and Robust Power Transfer Efficiency

Abstract: Wireless power transfer systems are increasingly used as a means of charging implantable medical devices. However, the heat or thermal radiation from the wireless power transfer system can be harmful to biological tissue. In this research, we designed and implemented a wireless power transfer system-based implantable medical device with low thermal radiation, achieving 44.5% coil-to-coil efficiency. To suppress thermal radiation from the transmitting coil during charging, we minimized the ESR value of the tran… Show more

“…Many river sections are still in a natural state, with low average tonnage of inland ships, backward navigation aids, high transportation cost and low e ciency, generally older inland river crew, and low educational level. In addition, China's inland river ports have a small number of berths and small handling capacity, simple and crude port facilities, and low mechanization level, which make the development of inland river shipping in China slow (Figure 1) [4].…”

“…The wireless power transmission technology could be a potential strategy to overcome the above drawbacks associated with traditional developments. This technology greatly eliminates the use of implantable device supply leads [35,[37][38][39]59]. Recently, Abiri et al developed a transmitter-centered control system for wireless power transfer with sufficient power to cardiac pacing [60].…”

“…Therefore, research on wirelessly supplying power from outside the body to the inside using WPT technology is being actively conducted [5,6]. Most of the conventional papers are studies on wireless charging of batteries using secondary batteries to reduce the burden of replacing batteries [7,8].…”
