Design and Implementation of Client-Server Based Application Using Socket Programming in a Distributed Computing Environment

Communication networks makes it easier to connect internationally in today's world. Chat systems, such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram and others, enable people to connect and chat over the internet. This chat system has evolved into one of the most important intermediate tools for people to exchange information and materials over the internet, thereby requiring secured socket system. In a social cultural environment, communication with a given network goal system necessitates a stress-free method of knowledge delivery. Surfing websites like "My Room" and "Facebook" has become a common occurrence among the younger generation. Nowadays, social networking websites are an important part of people's social, educational, and professional lives. The aim of this study is to create a group communication framework that uses a protected socket browser interface. This architecture was created with a server scripting language, a SQLite database model, and Python web application frameworks in mind.

Communication via sockets is used to transmit information between applications or between processes over network or locally. ZeroMQ is a library for sending messages using sockets that are quite well known. Talking about sending data, message security is an important part that needs to be taken into account, especially when sending data over a network. ZeroMQ sends messages openly without securing the messages sent. This is evidenced by research which states that ZeroMQ does not have a security layer for sending messages over the network and direct observation of message packets using the wireshark application. Therefore, this study creates a method of securing and authenticating message delivery using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) CBC (Cipher Block Chaining) mode combined with an authentication method. The AES CBC mode was chosen because it is faster than other methods and has strong encryption. This encryption and authentication are used so that the sender and recipient of the message are both valid senders and recipients so that no message changes during message delivery and messages can only be opened by the message recipient and the sender of the message. Tests are conducted to measure the effect of encryption and authentication on message delivery performance. Based on the tests conducted, there is an increase of 7% from normal delivery speed and the potential for messages is not up to 0.3% - 1.5%.

In recent years, researchers have focused on the development of many applications of information and communication which could lead to enhance human life. The congestion and road traffic are one of the most problems facing the ambulance transportation to provide fast healthcare services for patients. In this work, a tracking and data transfer system has been introduced such that a central monitoring and tracking unit can observe ambulance using MQTT protocol where each vehicle is occupied with the embedded system unit. When an ambulance being on the road it will communicate with other cars by means of socket communication whenever the ambulance enters a new region of the city. Chat between drivers has been designed using speech recognition library-based Google API. The proposed system has been designed and implemented using a python source network programming.
