Farming herdsmen, sheep dealers, and veterinarians are increasingly interested in continuously monitoring sheep basic physiological characteristics (such as the heart rate and skin temperature) outside the laboratory environment, with the aim of identifying the physiological links between stress, uncomfortable, excitement, and other pathological states. This paper proposes a non-invasive Wearable Stress Monitoring System (WSMS) with PhotoPlethysmoGram (PPG), Infrared Temperature Measurement (ITM), and Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) that aimed to remotely and continuously monitor the stress signs of sheep during transportation. The purpose of this study was implemented by following the multi-dimensional sensing platform to identify more pressure information. The designed WSMS showed sufficient robustness in recording and transmitting sensing data of physiology and environment during transport. The non-contact and non-destructive monitoring method that was proposed in this paper was helpful in minimizing the effects of sheep stress load.

The heart rate of a person is able to tell whether they are healthy. A heart-rate monitoring device is able to measure or record the heart rate of a person in real time, whether it is an electrocardiogram (ECG) or a photoplethysmogram (PPG). In this work, a microprocessor system loaded with a heart-rate monitoring algorithm is implemented. The microprocessor system is the Nios II processor system, which interfaces with an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) and a pulse sensor. A beat-finding algorithm is used in the microprocessor system for heart rate measurement. An experiment is carried out to analyse the functionality of the microprocessor system loaded with the algorithm. The results show that the detected heart rate is in the range of the average human being’s heart rate. The signal flow within the microprocessor system is observed and analysed using SignalTap II from Quartus’ software. Based on a power analysis report, the proposed microprocessor system has a total power dissipation of around 218.26 mW.

Alat untuk penghematan energi telah berhasil dibuat dalam prototipe lampu otomatis berbasis Arudino Uno. Alat ini dibantu dengan sensor PIR (passive infrared) dan RTC (real time clock). Pembuktikan kepekaan sensor PIR, dilakukan percobaan dengan jarak yaitu 0 meter, 0.5 meter, 1 meter, 1.5 meter, 2 meter, 2.5 meter dan 3 meter dengan sudut kemiringan 0 0 , 30 0 , 45 0 , dan 60 0 dengan sumber gerak berupa gerakan manusia. Dalam percobaan ini diperoleh data bahwa pada jarak 2,5 meter pada sudut 60 derajat PIR sudah tidak bisa menangkap sumber gerakan manusia. Real time clock (RTC) digunakan untuk mengatur waktu pengaktifan sensor PIR agar lebih efektif sehingga tidak terjadi penggunaan energi yang berlebih, karena waktu pemakaian lampu yang aktif adalah selama 1x24 jam.
