Design of Solar Smart Street Light Powered Plug-in Electric Vehicle Charging Station by Using Internet of Things

Abstract: The development of civilization increases the usage of transportation. This tends to more CO 2 emission, which pollutes the air significantly. To overcome this issue an emerging technology called plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) was used which eliminates the consumption of fossil fuels. Instead of fueling, the vehicle is charged from electricity. The major issue in the implementation of PEV is the charging station to charge the batteries of the vehicles. Usage of conventional energies such as thermal and nuclear… Show more

“…Various studies in the literature have proposed innovative solutions for leveraging SLs as EV charging infrastructure [178,179]. Additionally, when stand-alone SLs generate excess energy, this surplus can be used for EV charging or re-injected into the electrical grid [180]. These solutions are particularly impactful in remote and humanitarian settings, where solar-powered SLs can be designed with ground-level AC sockets to provide additional energy access for communities [45].…”

“…The solar PV-mounted electric vehicle charging ensures driving range improvement as well as cost reduction on plug-in charging (Shrivastava et al, 2019). In the study of Divyapriya et al (2021), they proposed the collective of unused battery power in street is connected to the grid to charge the electric vehicle depicted in Figure 15. By design, the recursive filter with the perturbing and observer algorithm-based solar PV with grid eliminates the fundamental frequency in the grid as well as the fast response for sudden changes in load current (Chauhan and Singh, 2019).…”
