Design, Synthesis and Docking Studies of Novel 1, 2, 3-Triazolyl Phenylthiazole Analogs as Potent Anti-HIV-1 NNRT Inhibitors

Abstract: In an attempt to design and synthesize a new class of anti-HIV-1 RTIs i.e., 4-(phenyl)-N,N-bis((1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl)thiazol-2-amine derivatives, substituted 2-amino-4-phenylthiazoles were alkylated with propargyl bromide to obtain dialkyne 2-amino-4-phenylthiazoles. This dialkyne 2-amino-4-phenylthiazole was reacted with aryl azides to generate small library of 15 compounds (4a-o) by click chemistry. The obtained derivatives were studied for as an anti-HIV-1 NNRT Inhibitors. All synthesized c… Show more

“…The newly characterized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial, as well as anti-inflammatory, properties [45]. A number of organic and synthetic compounds with a thiazole core are being studied for their potential antibacterial [46,47], anti-human immunodeficiency viruses [48], anticoagulant [49], anti-inflammatory [50], and antioxidant [51] properties.…”

“…Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that act on the affected tissues 3,4 by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins are one of the major class of drugs used to treat inflammation. 5−9 Various natural as well as synthetic compounds containing the thiazole core moiety have been explored for their antitumor, 10,11 antimicrobial, anti-HIV, 12 anticoagulant, 13 anti-inflammatory, 14 and antioxidant 15 properties since many decades. The available literature also supports the bioactivities of thiazole scaffolds (Figure 1).…”
