Fused pyridine derivatives R 0450Design, Synthesis and Melatoninergic Activity of New Unsubstituted and β,β'-Difunctionalized 2,3-Dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2,1-ij]quinolin-6-alkanamides.-A series of title compounds of type (VII) and (VIII) is prepared and the melatoninergic activities are discussed depending on spacer length and substitution pattern. (VIII) are antagonists in the Xenopus melanophore assay.
