Abstract:Maize streak virus (MSV) has only three genes : cp encoding the coat protein, mp encoding the movement protein and rep/repA encoding two distinct replication associated proteins from an alternatively spliced transcript. These genes have roles in encapsidation, movement, replication and interactions with the external environment and are thus prone to stimuli-driven molecular adaptation. We accomplished selection studies for these publicly available curated, recombination-free complete coding sequences for repre… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
