Development and characterization of a multi-layer magnetorheological elastomer isolator based on a Halbach array

Abstract: Most existing vibration isolators and dampers based on magnetorheological (MR) materials need electrical power to feed magnetic coils to stimulate the MR material, so if there is a loss of power, such as during a strong earthquake or system failure, they are unable to protect the structure. This paper outlines the design and test of a controllable multilayered magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) isolator based on a circular dipolar Halbach array; which is a set of magnets that generates a strong and uniform mag… Show more

“…By far, buffalo and bovine milk and dairy products are the significant sources of bioactive proteins and peptides acquired from foods. They can also be derived from other animal sources such as bovine blood 3 , gelatin, meat, eggs and various fish species such as tuna, sardine, herring and salmon. Some vegetal sources of BP and proteins are wheat, maize, soy, rice, mushrooms, pumpkin, sorghum and amaranth 4 , 5 .…”

“…27 For elastomeric isolation structure design, seismic isolators can be 3D printed using FFF technology, which allows for rapidly evolving design and component improvement. 28 Researchers used FFF 3D printers to fabricate pentamode lattice structures for exhibiting energy dissipation capacity and damping effect. 29 Among the biomedical applications, novel self-supporting microfluidic elastomer structures have been developed and 3D printed for viscoelastic inks precision extrusion, which has wide micro-scale applications such as lab-on-a-chip diagnostics, DNA microarrays, and cell-based assays.…”
